4 Neverswitchbackandforth
If you want to go organic, stay organic.
Never switch back and forth between the
normal commercial fertilizers and organic
fertilizers. It takes quite some time to get all
the elements of an organic garden going,
and commercial fertilizers can damage the
micro and macro ecosystems that organic
products put in place. We know this sound
all just a bit hippy and tree lover, but
organic gardens are stronger, can
overcome stresses more easily, and does
not deplete the soil which is the starting
point for any good garden. Organic
gardens, in the long run simply need less
input, and creates a self-sustaining system.

Neverusemanure
We know google translates manure to
compost, but it is most definitely not. It is
illegal to spread raw manure onto your
garden in urban environments. To avoid
the four year terror only use manure that
has been completely decomposed. Raw
manure brings with them bad bacteria,
E.coli, and even viruses and disease, not
even mentioning the copious amounts of
weed seed. Spreading it onto your garden
pollutes both the air and the soil, and
should be avoided at all times. Manure can
however be added to a well maintained
compost heap in small amounts, letting it
heat up and decompose completely to
destroy

elements
before
spreading. Manure can also influence the
PH of soil, so basically avoid doing it!

Al of us, with the greatest intentions, dig into
the garden thinking we wil transplant, and get
everything done in a weekend. The truth is that
it wil take longer than expected, and not al
