Upcycling is a theme that readers can easily take into
their own gardens. Some gardens approached the
theme from the idea that items can be used in a different
way or for a different purpose like the winning garden,
Echo Eco, which found a new use for crates, pal ets and
packaging that larger items are shipped in. Some of the
other gardens took broken items that would usual y end
in the trash like broken chairs and planted trees in the
ones without a seat, or cleverly used a cut down tree
trunk for new feet. Sometimes al we need is some clever
new ways to revive an otherwise useless item, and with
the help from these student gardens, we can al look at
upcycling trough new eyes.
