There are many delights in the Drakensberg, but
the Winterton area holds some of the most
amazing gems of the area. The beautiful mountains
is almost always the backdrop of all of the tourist
attractions. The array of tourist attractions range
from venues for the food, and wine connoisseur,
cultural attractions such as the Drakensberg boys
choir, nature and adventure attractions like hiking
and mountain climbing and endearing little shops
to delight in. A must see when in the area is Sandra
se winkel. This little delight consist of a shop and a
small museum of antiquities. The shop itself
preserves what a typical shopping experience was
like back in the day, and the negosie winkel houses
items reaching well into the past. It is an absolute
treat to see products from yesteryear displayed
typically like it would have been complete with
prices, and one cannot help but spend a full
morning remembering the good old days. A
second barn area sells some antiquities as well as
ceramic arts from the area. When it comes to dining
the pig and plough serves the most divine food in
the area. They also sell some deli items to keep your
lunchbox stocked for a day of adventure. Our best
way to spend a weekend in Winterton is to just
leisurely drive around and stop whenever you see a
sign to turn off the main roads. We were never
disappointed when we went off the beaten tr 40
