Step 6
Clean the boards by wiping with a brush.
Apply wood glue on both the board as well as
the back of the knob.
Step 7
Position the knob on the board. When placing
the knob, a small amount will ooze out. This is
normal.
Step 8
Clamp the knob using a spring-loaded or
screw clamp
Step 9
Clamp all four knobs. Wipe away the excess
glue with an old rag or moist strong paper
towel. Leave to set for at least 5 hours before
removing clamps
Step 10
The boards can be left raw, or varnished with
fireproof outdoor varnish. If you use the
boards raw, olive oil can be used to give the
boards their first seal. Rinse before making the
potjie to moisten the board. Remember fire is
dangerous. Read the bio fuel label carefully
