Hidden away on the route to Graaff-Reinet e there is a smal town which requires a change of plans.
But it is this smal town that wil stop any watch or clock and delight the one who visits there. The
town of Nieu-Bethesda is probably most famous for the Helen Martins Owl House Museum. Here
stone water furrows stil line the wide, dusty streets. Night skyscapes are unpol uted by streetlights
and the Compassberg watches over the vil age as visitors spend hours on their stoeps, watching
vil age life go by.
