50-50 Hobby Courses

Its more than a hobby. it’s a passion...

Life is about acquiring a multitude of skills and combining them in such a way that you become an expert in what the world will need tomorrow. It is a process and not a recipe. Irene School of Garden Design has developed our 50/50 split Hobby courses to develop your love of design and gardening into the most rewarding experience. The 2 courses also allow students with some background, previous experience, or even different career paths to add what they need to their existing repertoire. Create a new career or paying hobby out of your passion for outdoor spaces.

Stackable 50/50 Split Hobby Courses

The design course will assist those who would like to be able to help friends and clients with designing their perfect garden and can be applied in the industry to aid potential clients with consultations and basic planning and design expertise. This course will equip the hobbyist with more than enough knowledge and skill to help others with small sections or entire gardens and will bring their ideas into life.

The design course will thus assist hobbyists to help someone design and put together a garden or a section of their garden and continue the installation on a do it yourself or with the help of an installer.

The technical course is perfect for people who likes to get involved in the practical aspects of gardens such as quantities, construction, different aspects of the plant world, and implementation or building of gardens. This course will help hobbyist who have completed it, assist clients with basic installation needs, introductory irrigation, site works and overseeing the installation to install those smaller sections of the garden with ease.

The technical course will thus assist hobbyists to help someone who has a design or an idea for their garden to install sections or aspects of it or oversee an installation or do it yourself project.

For Pleasure or Purpose.
Hobby courses are designed around possibilities.

Different times calls for different approaches and new opportunities. Our hobby courses can be done as an enhancement of your love of gardening or to open up new career possibilities by making your hobby supplement your income. We offer two courses that focus on the needs every gardener has. Not everyone can install an entire garden all at once, and there is a desperate need for designers and technical skill in this smaller niche of the green industry.
