The swimming pool inside the Casterbridge Hol ow boutique
hotel is the most striking centrepiece of the inner court of the
hotel. Wide shallow edges in black, slip resistant marble
plaster serve as wet play areas for children as wel as heat up
the temperature of the water for the deeper center of the
pool. The pool area is surrounded by privacy hedges that
provide each dwel ing unit its own garden whilst still being
connected to the center court. The court is also the vista for
the hotel reception lobby, and the visitor is instantly drawn to
the pool which also serves as a water feature with decorative
white mosaic edging. With the neatly clipped hedges and
topiaries, whimsical sculptures and ingenious layout, the
Casterbridge complex is our recommended Landscape 06
for our
5th edition.
