The rose and flower garden followed
traditional design principles of
symmetry and balance in its layout.
An interesting hard surface pat ern of
cobble and gravel is an easy solution
that the visitor can implement at
home. The majority of beds showcase
the beauty of roses in peach, yellow,
pale pink and neutral purple.
The second team, to build at
Plantland Cornwal Hil , were the Part
Time PLUS students. This team
continues along traditional lines as
well with ideas for screening, and
making use of arches and alcoves.
The garden shows how a geometric
layout can be filled with organic swirls
of colour. The planting palette offers
a sharp contrast in foliage to give the
garden a crisp and contemporary
feel. The planting colours were strictly
contemporary greens and deep rich
purple to unify the variety of plants
used. The team consisted of Mike
Sherman, Jerry Rakaole, Anthony
Cawood, and Quintin Robberetze.
