Step 1
Start of by measuring the window you'll be making
shutters for. Each shutter should be half the width of
the window and the height of the window. If you are
replacing existing shutters, just measure those.
Step 2
Depending on the size, you'l want to use three or
four boards to make up the shutter body.
Measured off the width of the shutter and add two
battens, one at the top and one at the bottom, to
the shutter.
Step 3
Flip the assembled shutter over and screw the
battens to the boards from the underside. This wil
eliminate the need for hiding the screws with
countersinking and plugs.
Step 4
Attach hooks to each shutter and mark off the
corresponding dril points on the house.
