1900's Art nouveau
Art nouveau was a turn of the century

changing how our home operates.
1915's De Stijl
This style was first formed as a magazine, the
mouthpiece of a group of like-minded and creative
Dutchmen who then gave themselves the name led by
Architect Theo van Doesberg. Other cult figures
include Piet Mondrian and Gerrit Rietveld famous for
the Rietveld chair. Calvinist simplicity, abstraction, and
primary colours, with black lines signatures De Stijl.
1920's Bauhaus
Accurately translates to "construction house" .
The Bauhaus is arguably the biggest influence
on how our world looks. Some of the ideals
from the Bauhaus School, which includes the
design of literal y everything is "truth to
material" and "form fol ows function".
1945 Postwar revival
After 1945 the only way was up.
Designers looked for new hope. Arriva
Italia. Italy was on the forefront of
product design with famous designers
such as Marcello Nizzoli and
Carradino d'Ascanio who brought us

the new look Olivetti typewriter and
the infamous Vespa scooter.
