Design Component
The Design component consists of 29 highly insightful and engaging audio-visual lessons, each with language support subtitles, downloadable notes and application exercises to make the lesson practical. While rooted in garden design, this component can also benefit a variety of professions and backgrounds. Three design projects are scheduled throughout the design component, with each project bringing together the lessons that precede it to help you build and practise garden design confidence. Additional revolving masterclasses and examples will further keep our content fresh, relevant, and inspiring for years to come.

The Technical component consists of 16 practical and valuable audio-visual lessons focused on installation, maintenance and the applied aspects of landscaping. The lessons include language support subtitles, downloadable notes, and application exercises to help you understand the content in a more practical way. Two design projects are scheduled alongside the notes and exercises, with each project bringing together the preceding lessons and technical knowledge into residential garden design prowess. While some topics are highly practical, the theory and exercises are designed to clarify each subject and build confident understanding. Additional revolving masterclasses and examples are also available for the technical component.

All our video lessons now come with language-support subtitles in 15 languages, making our programmes more accessible to students across South Africa, Africa, South America, Europe and beyond. Our audio-visual lessons, each with their own application exercises, can be done in your own time, from the comfort of your own home, making it an affordable and manageable undertaking that will provide individual growth, skills, and knowledge. Personal assistance is always available during your studies. After completing all the lessons, application exercises, and all five application design projects, you can complete the concluding design assessment project, which will be marked by various professionals. Upon successful completion, you will receive a confirmation certificate** of your Irene School of Garden Design training, and your details will also be added to our preferred landscape designer or installer list, should someone want to reference your credentials.***
